Sheriff Shane Booth was instrumental in implementing Tango Tango’s services for his agency. “I
initially heard about Tango Tango from a neighboring sheriff,” said Booth. “As he was
explaining it to me, he picked up his cellphone and radioed his dispatch from the south side of
my county.” The demonstration of how the application works immediately interested Booth.
From that point, the Sheriff contacted representatives from Tango Tango. “I was impressed by
their professionalism and willingness to work with me on what I had in mind.”

Booth said after he related what type of services his county needed, Tango Tango had everything
up and running in a short time. “We implemented a fire channel and a law channel,” said Booth.
“We are a rural county so my office dispatches for every agency in the area: the sheriff’s office,
police departments, six fire departments, county EMS, Emergency Management, and Game
Wardens.” Booth said they connected all of the agencies with Tango Tango’s application and
their radio channel.

Once Tango Tango’s services were implemented into the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Booth
has been highly impressed with their customer service as well as the whole team. “They handle
any issue or question promptly and follow up to ensure it was handled the way I needed it to be.”
Since the county is rural, they cover over 1, 230 square miles of land. Before Tango Tango the
county did not have good radio coverage due to the placement of the towers and the terrain.
“After we started using Tango Tango, it made a difference, we can now speak on either channel
from just about anywhere in our entire county because of cellphone coverage,” said Booth.

“One of the biggest advantages of using Tango Tango is the ability to speak to your dispatch or personnel at any time because of cellular coverage. I have personally used it to communicate with my staff from all over the state
of Oklahoma and have used it as a scanner to keep up with what is going on in the county when I am away.”

Booth recalled one particular benefit of having Tango Tango. “One of the biggest advantages of
using Tango Tango is the ability to speak to your dispatch or personnel at any time because of
cellular coverage. I have personally used it to communicate with my staff from all over the state
of Oklahoma and have used it as a scanner to keep up with what is going on in the county when I
am away.” Booth said his deputies have used it during prisoner transportation from other states.
“My deputies are just a button push away from contact with our office just like the radio.”
In addition to the benefit of strong, easy communication, every call that comes across the radio is
recorded with time and date stamps which is excellent for safety purposes as well as
documentation.

“The radio traffic they transmit is also heard by everyone on duty or using the program at the
time,” Booth said. “It keeps everyone in the know of what is happening.”
