Admin Basics

Login to the Admin Portal

  • Either 1) go directly to manage.tangotango.io or 2) go to tangotango.net and click "Login" from the top menu to get to the Login Screen.
  • Input your phone number.
    • Some users without phone numbers are setup with an email address. If your account was setup to use email, input your email address instead. However, most users login via their phone number.
  • Click ‘Submit’.
  • The phone number that you typed in will be sent a 6-digit code via text message.
  • Enter in the 6-digit code.
  • Click ‘Submit’.
  • You will be logged in to the Admin Portal.

Add a User

Here is a step-by-step guide to add a user to your organization.

  • Login to Admin Portal
  • Select ‘User’ tab
  • Search and select your organization at the top
  • Select ‘Add User’ in the top right corner
  • Select your organization
  • Input the first and last name of the user you are wanting to add
  • Provide a title (not necessary)
  • Provide an email address or a phone number (can use the same as login number)
  • Check “Send Onboarding Notifications” to notify the user that you are adding them to this organization
  • Click Save

Important: by default, a new user is not joined to any channels at time of creation. They won't receive channel traffic until they are added to at least one channel.

Add a User to a Channel

  • If you haven't already, you must create a user in your organization first (see Add a User)
  • Click the ‘Channels’ tab in the left menu
  • Select the Organization (if you have access to more than one) and then the Channel that you want to add members to.
  • Click ‘Members’ in the right part of the screen. All users with access to the channel will be displayed.
  • Click the ‘Add Users’ button.
  • Search and/or select the user that you want to add to the Channel.
  • Ensure that agreen check mark is shown beside the users you are adding.
  • Click 'Submit

Add a User to a Channel (alt method, through Users tab)

  • Select ‘Users’ tab
  • Search and select your organization
  • Select the user that you would like to assign a channel to
  • Click on ‘Channels’ within the user profile
  • Click on ‘Join Channel’
  • Below is a list of all channels within your organization
  • Select the channel you would like to add the user to
  • Make sure the channel has a green check mark beside it
  • Click ‘Submit’

Make a User "Listen Only"

  • Note: "Listen Only" is set on a per-channel basis. You cannot make an entire user account "Listen Only" but can set it on a per-channel basis.
  • Click on the ‘Channels’ tab on the left side
  • Select the channel that the user is a part of that you would like to make "Listen Only".
    • The user must already be added to the Channel to make them "Listen Only". If you haven't already added the User to a Channel, see the "Add a User to a Channel" guide.
  • Click on ‘Members’
  • Search for and select the user that you would like to make "Listen Only"
  • Click the microphone icon to the right side of the name
  • Once the microphone icon has turned red with a line through it, then that user will be ‘Listen only’ and cannot transmit on the Channel.

Add an Admin

  • Only the first and original admin has the ability to add more admin to the organization
  • Click ‘Organizations’ tab on the left
  • Select your organization
  • Click ‘Administrators’ tab on the right pane
  • Search for and then select the user that you would like to add as an admin
  • Click ‘Add’ to add this user as a new administrator in your organization

Using Live Console

  • Click ‘Live Console’ tab on the left side
  • You can search and select a channel or contact that you would like to communicate with underneath
    • Click 'Join' to join a channel you are not already a part of.
  • Once you select a channel, the middle of the page will open and display previous audio transmissions and text messages from the selected Channel.
  • You can send a text message to the Channel from the bottom of the screen
  • You can download an audio recording by selecting the download button on the right side of a particular Recording
  • At the top of the middle screen, you can select to see previous calls that have been made under the ‘Calls’
  • You can send tone outs from the ‘Tone Events’ tab
  • You can see all of the users that make up this channel under the ‘Members’ tab
  • In the top right corner, you can see a map and the channel users that are sharing their location
  • In the bottom right corner, click and hold the green ‘Push to Talk’ button to send an audio transmission to your channel
  • Your audio recording will appear under the ‘Messages’ tab in the middle of the Live Console screen

Access Recordings & Messages

  • Select the ‘Live Console’ tab on the left side
  • Click on the specific channel that you want to review Messages or Recordings for
  • The middle of the screen will open up and display all previous messages and audio recordings
  • Admin have access to recordings and messages for 30 days
    • Admins have the ability to upgrade your Tango Tango plan to 365 days recording retention
    • Note: once recordings expire, they are deleted from our servers and not recoverable
  • Non-admin have access to recordings and messages for 24 hours

Send a Tone-Out from Live Console

Live Console Tone Generation

You can use Tango Tango's Live Console to send a tone-out event to your existing radio or pager system.

  • This feature requires that you have a Radio Integration and have the First Response Tones feature enabled
  • Select ‘Live Console’ on the left side
  • Select the channel that you would like to send the tone out of
  • Click ‘Send Tones’ on the right side above the green PTT button
  • Choose which tone you would like to send
  • Click the green + button beside the tone
  • Click the green ‘Apply’ button

Setup Interoperability with another Organization

Setting Up Interop

Here is a walkthrough to setup shared channels between your organization and another org that is using Tango Tango.

  • Select ‘Organizations’ on the left side
  • Select the organization that you are apart of
  • Click the ‘Interop’ tab within your organization
  • You must contact Tango Tango support to receive permission to both send and receive information from other organizations
  • Grantor Interop Agreements displays what information you are sharing with other organizations
  • Click the edit button on the right side
    • This will let you decide what information you want to share with other organizations
    • Contacts, tones, locations
    • Click the green save button once decided
    • To share channels you click ‘Share more Channels’
    • Select which channels you would like to share
    • Click ‘Confirm’
    • Click ‘Share’
  • Grantee Interop Agreements shows what information is being shared with you from outside organizations

Setup First Response Tones

Adding First-Response Tones in the Admin Portal

  • Click ‘Alerts’ on the left side
  • Click ‘Sources’
  • Click ‘Add Tone’ in the top right corner
  • Select your organization
  • Type out what you want to name this new tone
  • Select ‘First Response Tone’
  • Click the green ‘Save’ button

Add Members to Tones

  • Open the created tone
  • Select the ‘Members’ tab
  • Click ‘Add Users’
  • Search the user that you would like to add to the tone
  • Click on their name and make sure the green check mark appears beside their name
  • Click ‘Submit’

Mobile User app

  • Go to Settings page
  • Click on ‘First Response Tones’
  • Make sure that ‘Receive Incident Calls in DND’ and ‘Pager Alert’ are both checked on and green
  • Scroll to your newly created User that you are a member of
  • Make sure it is slid to on and shows green
