Every Second Counts.

Tango Tango CAD Alerting helps your agency react faster and achieve better outcomes.

CAD Systems Integration

Overview

Tango Tango allows your organization to send CAD Incident Alerts from your existing CAD system to mobile phones. You will have a CAD Alerting group in your Admin Portal and can assign Tango Tango users to the group to customize who gets new CAD Alerts.

Today, these alerts come in via text message to each Tango Tango user. Each message contains a description of the incident and a link for more detail. When clicked, the link looks like the below:

How to setup CAD Alerts?

If you are not a current Tango Tango user, then Get Started and get an account setup with us.

If your organization already has Tango Tango setup either as a customer or on free trial, then follow the steps below to setup CAD Alerts.

  1. Email us at support@tangotango.net and request a CAD Alerting email address
  2. We will email you back with an email address specific to you.
  3. Take the email address we sent you and input it into your CAD system. Set your CAD system to send new incident emails to this address. We will now be able to take these email and convert them into alerts for your users.
  4. Now, all that is left is to setup your user lists who want to receive CAD Alerts. Note: you'll need to be an admin for your organization with Tango Tango to complete this step.
    1. Login to your Admin Portal at manage.tangotango.io or click "Sign In" in the top menu of this website.
    2. On the lefhand bar, click "Tones"
    3. In the list, you'll see your CAD Alert Group. You may also see tone out groups listed also if you use two-tone paging in Tango Tango.
    4. Select the CAD Alert group.
    5. Now, click "Members" and click "Add New" to add new CAD Alert recipients.

Multiple CAD Feeds

Need multiple CAD feeds? For example, you might be a volunteer fire association overseeing multiple fire departments and need a separate CAD alerting feed for each department.

No problem, just request CAD Alerting email addresses (step 1) for however many feeds you need. Each email address will map to a separate group list in the Admin Portal. You could setup 10 separate CAD feeds for 10 departments if desired - just setup your CAD system to email the appropriate types of incidents to each address.

Any CAD System

If your CAD System can send an email, we can support it.

Support

Need support? Email us support@tangotango.net and we will help you troubleshoot.

Common issues in troubleshooting:

If CAD Alerts aren't arriving quickly enough, the most common cause of slow delivery is in the time it takes for your CAD System to send an email to us. Some areas to investigate:

  • Check howquickly your CAD System is sending the email after the incident is created in your CAD or email system logs. If it's taking a while to send an email to us, is the Tango Tango email address the only email receiving new incident alerts or are other email addresses getting email sent first? Moving us up in the priority list might help the issue.
  • Make sure that your email provider is not holding your sent mails before sending - for example, some email providers like Gmail have a feature that will hold a sent email for a set number of seconds after hitting "Send" to give web users the option to "Undo".
  • If you've investigated these and still having the problem, contact us at support@tangotango.net.

If CAD Alerts don't seem accurate, contact us at support@tangotango.net to update the parsing of your CAD Alert. This most commonly occurs if your agency has recently updated your CAD incident format. Our system can often account for this but might sometimes be confused if the format changes.
