We justlaunched Tango Tango 4.1, with several highly-requested features. Version 4.1 is now live in all app stores and is ready for download. Despite being a x.1 release, this is a large release with significant added features.
New features included in all plans
Map Layers. Upload your own custom locations and see them on the Tango Tango map in the smartphone app and in Live Map on the Admin Portal. Use them for:
- Fire hydrants
- Schools
- Police, fire, and EMS stations
- Rally points
- Any fixed locations you want to show on your map

Emergency/Panic Alerts. Turn on an in-app emergency/panic button that enables app users to declare an emergency. Learn more about Emergency alerts.
Ramping Pager tone. A new two-tone paging alert that raises the volume gradually over several seconds, so that a sudden, loud tone doesn't jar you out of sleep. To use it, go to Alerts > Settings and choose the "Ramping Pager" FRT tone.

New: the Command plan - includes Live Weather, transcription of PTT traffic, and more to come in 2027
Command is our first plan above Unlimited, as we begin to launch new Situational Awareness and Incident Review/Reporting type capabilities alongside PTT and CAD alerting.
Available now:
- Live in-app Weather and traffic, in the app and the Admin Portal Live Map, alongside your users and Layer Features. Includes weather radar, polygon warnings, traffic, severe hail paths, and flash flood risk. Weather data is provided by Baron Weather, one of the top weather companies in the world. Active for all organizations as a trial through Dec 31st 2026.
- Unlimited retention of Recordings & Messages (you can set a shorter interval, such as 1 year, if desired)
- PTT transcription: in-app text transcripts of PTT transmissions
- Unlimited CAD feeds for in-app CAD incident alerts, ideal for fire associations and countywide organizations like EMAs and 9-1-1 centers.
Coming soon:
- InteropONE by BK Technologies: add temporary users or talkgroups that delete themselves at a set time. For example, create a user that expires in 24 hours, or same for a talkgroup created for a single incident or mutual aid event. See the press release from BK here.
- Keyword alerts and transcription searching: get alerts when specific words or phrases are spoken on PTT channels and search PTT transcriptions.
- And much more.
Command Pricing and special upgrade offer in 2026
- Standard price: an additional $1,500/yr over the Dispatch plan
- Special offer if select Command by December 31, 2026:
- Organizations who opt-in to Command in 2026 get a lifetime $500/yr discount, bringing the upgrade to just an additional $1,000/yr over Dispatch ($2,495/yr total), with a no-price-increase guarantee as long as your subscription stays active. As new Command features launch in future years, the Command price may increase for new customers - but your price as a Founding plan subscriber stays the same forever.
- Customers who upgrade before the end of 2026 also receive a free LTE Radio - either handheld or mobile - for the lifetime of their Tango Tango subscription. This is a $300/yr value.
- Free until renewal: if are an existing customer and upgrade to Command, you get Command features free for the rest of your current term - no need to add spend in the current budget year. Your next invoice will be at the Command price.
- Try before you decide. Every Tango Tango organization gets in-app weather free through the end of 2026. Want to test Transcription, longer Retention, or additional CAD feeds? Let us know and we'll turn them on - those aren't features we want to enable without your approval. To keep Weather and the other Command features in 2027, upgrade to Command any time before the end of 2026.

New features going forward
Both our standard plan and the new Command plan will continue to see additional features added at no additional cost in the months and years to come as you've come to expect from us.
- Our standard plan has rebranded to the Dispatch plan and will remain focused on PTT and CAD Alert features. This plan is more geared towards small-to-mid-size departments/deployments.
- The new Command plan will get all those features plus situational awareness, incident review/reporting, and mutual aid type features such as those needed by medium-to-large agencies or countywide deployments. We foresee adding many new features in these areas in 2027 & beyond.
